Description of service
|
|
1) The customer's employees provide all payroll services and expertise and manage the Aurion software, which is hosted on the customer's own infrastructure.
2) The customer owns a perpetual licence to use the Aurion software. |

1) The same as the In-house solution, except that a third party hosts the Aurion software and charges the customer for that service.
2) Hosting usually is regarded as a specialist service requiring dedicated hardware. Hosting charges by the third party for the customer are by negotiation.
3) Service Level Agreements (SLA's) between the customer and the third party hosting company are standard.
4) The customer owns a perpetual licence to use the Aurion software. |

2) Aurion supplies, supports, and administers the software.
3) Aurion hosts the software and maintains the IT infrastructure and network access.
4) SLA's are agreed.
5) A minimum term of contract is applied.
6) The Customer uses the software for the term of the agreement and pays a fixed fee per month, for each person paid.
7) The customer does not own an Aurion licence. |

As for BPO Level 1, plus:
1) Aurion provides the 'Aurion Coordinator' role which incorporates payrun processing, disbursements and co-ordination of the payroll function.
2) Other Aurion services may include:
Trial pay and pay run.
Batch processing for payroll.
Control payroll files for disbursement.
Help desk support.
Providing Aurion reports.
System configuration services.
Control of user security and access. |

Aurion provides the full spectrum of HR services to staff on behalf of the customer. As for BPO Level 2, plus:
1) Aurion supplies payroll transaction processing including:
Commencements.
Pay variations (salary increases, tax adjustments, child support, leave adjustments etc).
Cessations.
Employee information support (Help Desk).
Relocations. |

Staff numbers are dependant on the size of the organisation. Best practice is around 1 fulltime payroll staff member + one backup, in a central location, for every 600 to 800 employees. |

1) As for In-house, except that 1 person may be more of a generalist as the outsourcer has detailed payroll knowledge.
2) Backup can be provided by Aurion. |

1) Half-to-1 person to liaise and manage the SLA with Aurion. This person could be a HR practitioner rather than payroll specialist.
