Aurion Data Conversion Services
PurposeA standard Aurion implementation often involves the conversion of an organisation’s HR and Payroll data from one or more systems into a format suitable for loading electronically into Aurion.
For our new and existing customers, Aurion can complete the analysis of available data, plan for data conversion, perform data-mapping of a conversion to be undertaken by a third party, or for the data to be converted and loaded by one of our consultants.
Aurion consultants have experience in converting data from a variety of systems and at various stages in an organisation’s implementation of Aurion. Organisations have used data conversions to load data from legacy systems at the initial Aurion implementation and to load data from inherited systems following mergers with other organisations.
Who Should Be Involved?
Data conversion planning and activities require people with an understanding of Aurion, people who are proficient in the legacy or inherited system, people who administer Aurion on a daily basis, and your IT support staff.
Prerequisites
Staff involved in the data conversion process must have experience in using Aurion, understand the nature of the data being converted from other systems, and possess detailed knowledge of your organisation’s employment conditions.
What Will Be Achieved?
Depending upon the options you choose, we will provide:
• A data conversion plan included in your Aurion implementation plan or a separate data conversion plan, if required
• A data-mapping document detailing the steps of conversion, configuration and dataloading to be performed in house or by a third party
• An Aurion consultant to perform the data conversion and load the data into Aurion for testing
• Training for key staff in the various aspects of data conversion and loading data into Aurion
Duration
Because an organisation may choose to load some or all possible HR and Payroll data from one or several other systems, it is best to speak with a member of our Customer Service Centre to discuss your needs, timeframes and the available options. Depending upon the preferences of your organisation, any staff training can be run as presentations or as ‘hands-on’ workshops.
What Preparation Is Required?
Depending on the options chosen, our consultant will require details of the data available from your legacy system, access to data files exported from the legacy system in ASCII format, access to your Aurion Test database and to staff with knowledge of the exported data.
Where staff training is included, each attendee also requires access to a PC and a normal logon to the Aurion training environment. Aurion is able to assist you with this preparation.
