Aurion Technical Services
Purpose
Aurion can provide a range of technical services relating to an Aurion implementation. These services are relevant to both new and existing customers and are aimed at ensuring the best possible technical implementation of Aurion and an improved understanding of the Aurion installation in your organisation.
The technical services we provide include:
• Full installations
• Major upgrades
• Minor upgrades
• Reviews and fine-tuning of existing Aurion installations
• System Administration Workshops
These services are particularly useful to customers when a major Aurion upgrade is required (for example, from your current version to the latest version) or staff movements leave a ‘knowledge gap’ in relation to managing the Aurion installation. We have experienced technical resources available to help meet your requirements in these areas.
Who Will Benefit From These Services?
The services provided have relevance to both IT System Administration staff and a System Administrator from the end-user area. These are the people who will manage your Aurion installation and take responsibility for organising and following the documented procedures developed during a System Administration workshop.
If you have special requirements, or a particular topic you would like as a focus for your technical staff, please let us know.
The System Administration Workshop can also be used as an effective method of training new or backup IT staff with responsibility for administering Aurion.
System Administration Workshop
The System Administration Workshop provides a customised System Administration procedures manual for your organisation, and an improved understanding of the Aurion installation and upgrade process.
Prerequisites
Generally, staff attending the workshop are expected to have had exposure to Aurion and a thorough knowledge of your site’s hardware and network environment.
What Will Be Achieved?
The workshop content covers a wide range of topics that are required knowledge for Aurion System Administrators. Typically, the focus of the System Administration Workshop is on:
• Understanding support procedures
• Creating multiple Aurion environments
• Managing Printing from Aurion
• Performing minor and major Aurion upgrades
• Understanding interface files, locations, and processes
• Data backup and restore procedures
• Jobstreams and Scheduling tools
• Security overview
• Uniface and Aurion Assignment files
Duration
The System Administration workshop takes two days and provides opportunities to develop, discuss and revise the customised site-specific procedures that have been developed during the workshop.
What Preparation Is Required?
For installation and upgrade services, a Pre-Installation Checklist will be forwarded to you for completion prior to the visit by the technical consultant.
The Customer Service Centre will provide information on other preparation required.
